About Sonja

I help clients create meaningful, lasting change through mental health counseling and dog training. My work is practical, relational, and focused on helping people better understand themselves, regulate their emotions, and build healthier patterns in daily life.

In counseling, I support clients with stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, communication struggles, and feeling stuck in patterns they want to change. I provide a grounded space where clients can feel heard, gain clarity, and develop tools that support emotional regulation, self-awareness, resilience, and more aligned decision-making.

My approach is not just about reducing symptoms. I help clients look at the deeper roots of distress so we can work toward real change rather than temporary relief. I value honesty, compassion, accountability, and practical strategies clients can actually use in everyday life.

I also offer dog training, helping clients better understand canine behavior, improve communication with their dogs, and create calmer, healthier relationships in the home. My dog training work focuses on trust, consistency, structure, and skill-building for both the dog and the human.

For many people, dog training and personal growth overlap. Learning to stay calm, communicate clearly, and build trust with a dog often reflects the same skills needed in human relationships and emotional wellness. Because of this, my work supports both the individual and the bond they have with their animal.

Overall, I help clients move from confusion, overwhelm, and reactivity toward greater clarity, confidence, connection, and stability.
