2. How We Use Your Data
By creating a profile, you grant us permission to use, display, and distribute your profile information for the purpose of operating, improving, and growing the directory. This includes:
- Displaying your profile in search results and public listings
- Sharing aggregated or anonymized data for research, analytics, or business purposes
- Providing your publicly listed information to partners, affiliates, or successor services
- Using your profile data to improve matching, recommendations, and directory features
Your phone number and email address are strictly governed by your privacy settings and are only displayed publicly if you explicitly choose to make them visible. Your password is cryptographically hashed and never readable. We use essential cookies for login sessions only.
3. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies for login sessions. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (no personal data). We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools.
4. Shadow Profiles
We may create placeholder listings using publicly available data (Oregon licensing board, other directories). These "shadow profiles" contain only publicly available information. If you find yours:
- Claim it — create an account and we'll merge the data into your profile
- Request removal — email us at support@orcounselors.com
5. Your Rights
- Access: View all data we hold about you (your dashboard)
- Delete: Remove your profile and account at any time
- Export: Request a copy of your data
- Correct: Edit your information anytime via the dashboard
- Object: Contact us if you disagree with how we use your data
6. Data Security
Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. All connections use HTTPS. Database access is restricted. We follow industry security practices and regularly audit our systems.
