About Shannon

I'm currently taking new clients! I love being a supportive and helpful presence for my clients! As an older student, I graduated with my MSW degree in 2017 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2020. In graduate school I specialized in working with college sexual  assault, and then older-adult mental health during my second year. I’ve worked with teenage girls, children and families, as well as adults of all ages.

Since being licensed, I’ve chosen to use the accumulation of my experience and training to specialize in working with adults as an individual therapist. As an LCSW therapist I am committed to anti racist practices, supporting BIPOC individuals, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. I also value working with women of all ages as well as other populations that are especially vulnerable to traumatic experiences. All gender identities are welcome!

I have many years of experience and training working with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, stress management, ADHD, chronic pain, relationship challenges, life transition, low self worth, body positivity,  and other challenges. I also work with parenting challenges.

My approach is eclectic and relational, rooted in kindness and compassion. I use evidence based practices with the integration of psychology and human development. The approaches I use include EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, Somatic, ACT, DBT, Polyvegal Theory, and Motivational Interviewing.

I’ve lived in the Eugene area for almost thirty years and am invested in my community. Before that I lived in the Portland area, and my earliest years were in Southern California. My background includes having a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree, as well as psychology and human sciences education. I love spending time in nature, exercising and gardening, and I have 2 sweet dogs.

I am licensed in the state of Oregon and am able to work with clients who live all over the state. See my list of insurance and self pay options.
