About Root

I consider psychotherapy to be a collaborative effort between client and therapist. My name is Jacob Dougherty and I founded Root Insights Counseling because I view my clients as experts of their own lives, I believe in your ability to make choices for yourself. My approach is positive, integrative, and holistic. A holistic approach to therapy looks at issues concerning body, mind, and spirit. For example: Body – The way you treat your body influences the way you feel. Depression, anxiety, fatigue, and other ailments may be due to lifestyle habits such as inadequate nutrition, exercise etc.
