About May

You feel exhausted trying to stay on top of life, but you forget about yourself and what would make you happy. You find yourself asking: why am I the only person floundering to make sure everyone else is okay?”But when you don’t do this, you feel even worse. You feel lost. I know the feeling of being stuck. With mindfulness-based relational therapy, I will help you quiet the self-doubt, communicate your emotions and draw effective boundaries so that you can enjoy life with more ease and peace.

M.S @Northwestern University. When working with me, we start by fostering a welcoming, trustworthy space. From there, I will invite you to talk about your hopes and dreams-what brought you into therapy, what you would like to achieve in our work together. During this process, I will slow us down and help you attend to yourself. I welcome your unique story and will support you to reconnect with your own awareness around things that bring you joy, ease, and pleasure. In addition to being a listener, I also engage myself actively in the process. This looks like us taking a closer look at some of the events/things in your life that bring your pain and begin to understand it. I will teach you skills to tame your feelings and open up in a way that feels okay. We will also explore how you show up in the world and make sense of its roots. This includes us exploring a potential belief of yours, or more importantly, navigating some of the old, painful past towards healing and change.

As a BIPOC individual and A first-generation Asian Immigrant, I understand the feelings of being othered and being small. I am passionate about helping couples and individuals with relational struggles because, as a fellow traveler on earth, I also know that yearning for a loving relationship and that authentic knowledge of “I am enough”. I believe it is possible to break free from old destructive patterns and live a fuller life that is aligned with your truth. I became a therapist to help people reconnect with themselves in a kind way, to be happy with who they are, and to build authentic and loving relationships that they truly deserve.
