At its heart, being truly seen is about feeling safe enough to let your guard down and know that the person looking back at you accepts exactly who you are. It is a deeply comforting reminder that your feelings matter, your presence makes a difference, and you don’t have to carry your burdens alone. When we allow ourselves to be known, and when we extend that same gentle, undivided attention to others, we build a quiet sanctuary of trust and belonging that makes the world feel a little softer and much less lonely.
I'm a non-traditional - traditional therapist: I subscribe to talk therapy with the understanding that you are the expert in your own life - not me. I'm a Midwestern transplant, so a "yup" or "you betcha" might slip in once in a while. I entered this profession as a woman at midlife and someone who has experienced many life transitions. My job is not to save or fix my client, which sounds daunting, quite frankly. Let's just walk through this thing called "Life" together, shall we?
