Although I may help to guide, I respect the client's ideas about the pace & focus of their psychotherapy. I offer an open-minded approach to complex situations and relationships. My goal is to offer time and space for a client to put themselves first, so they may recognize patterns in their inner life, explore how they relate to others and discover more about the life they want.
I use evidence-based interventions for adults which are tailored to each individual. My approach is holistic and body-centered; exploring the story of a person's experience with an all-inclusive lens, looking at one's family culture, generational themes, core beliefs, unmet needs, personal strengths and communication style.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters of Science degree in Social Work in 2007. I completed EMDR trainings 2019- 2021 and added coursework in Advanced Flash Technique (2026.) I am currently listed as an EMDR Therapist on Emdrconsulting.com. I completed the Level One IFS training in December 2025 and am enrolled in Level 2 IFS Summer/Fall 2026. I also completed coursework in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) in March 2026.
I often think of the work we do in session as 'parts work'. There may be a part of you which expresses curiosity and a part which wants to hold back, seeking confirmation of emotional security. These are normal & expected moments in therapy. Whether you are struggling with relationships, depression, ADHD, anxiety or trauma, you have strengths and skills which can be developed and encouraged.
Creating and developing trust is the good work we do together. For me, this is a privilege to join with you in this effort. I believe in pursuing a truly 'good fit' for both the client and the counselor. I recommend clients contact more than one therapist before making a decision in moving forward. I offer a 15 minute phone consultation at no cost.
Currently, I am not offering therapy through a client's health insurance plan. I feel this allows for greater freedom and security for the client's therapy experience. Sliding scale is limited but available. My goal is to keep therapy affordable.
