About this product
A 3-hour, on-demand CE course for licensed mental health professionals whose clients are already using psychedelics, often without saying so. It covers the pharmacology and contraindication profiles of the psychedelics clinicians most often encounter, the current federal and state legal landscape, and where a licensed clinician's role ends and a facilitator's begins.
It introduces the Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration (PHRI) framework developed by Gorman, Nielson and colleagues as a clinical orientation for this work, and it teaches a non-judgmental first response to disclosure: language, contraindication screening priorities and documentation. It closes on ethics, power dynamics and equity in access. Introductory level; no prior psychedelic training is assumed. Taught by Peter H. Addy, PhD, LPC, LMHC. A free preview is on the course page.
Self-paced video home study. Psychedelic Affirming Education is an NBCC-approved continuing education provider (ACEP No. 7579). The course offers 3 CE hours on completion.
