Scarlet Celestino
Accepting new clientsAbout Scarlet
As a therapist, I strive to create and maintain an empathic, non-judgmental, authentic, open-minded, and multiculturally sensitive space. My approach to mental health care focuses on genuine interpersonal connection, personal exploration and insight-building, and collaborative resourcing, problem solving, and improvement, adapted to the needs and comfort level of each client. I especially love to discuss the significance of the family environment in emotional development, and to incorporate expressive art activities in therapy. Currently, I work with clients age 15+ for individual psychotherapy to address anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, as well as personal/identity exploration and affirmation, and more.
I have experience working with clients from ages 18-64 with a variety of mental health conditions. I primarily use philosophies from Adlerian Therapy and Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), supported by techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have a strong educational foundation in feminist and queer theories, as well as specific training in LGBTQ+ Affirming Counseling, and specialize in working with queer and/or transgender clients. I also utilize knowledge from my previous experience working as a psychiatric medical assistant and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) operator.
I earned my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Oregon University in 2026. In 2024, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with minors in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies and Social Sciences, also from Southern Oregon University. I am a Registered Associate/Professional Counselor Associate with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
I am currently accepting clients who have OHP (Jackson Care Connect) insurance and offer both in-person appointments in the Medford office and telehealth appointments. For questions or to schedule an appointment, please call (541) 826-8282 or email [email protected].
