About Colleen
About Me
I am a licensed therapist and international psychologist with more than two decades of experience supporting individuals through transformation. My clinical training includes a PhD in International Psychology with a focus on leadership and identity development, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in addictions. Throughout my career, I’ve worked on five continents in roles ranging from therapist to organizational ombuds and leadership consultant.
My practice is grounded in Schema Therapy, an evidence-based method for helping people shift long-standing patterns at the root—not just the surface. This work is not about pathology. It’s about integrating survival strategies, healing emotional wounds, and restoring access to your innate clarity and power.
The world we live in is complex. If you’re someone who leads, supports others, or simply carries a lot—emotionally, mentally, or relationally—it’s understandable to reach moments when clarity fades and deeper support is needed.
Therapy is not a last resort. It’s a wise investment in yourself.
This is a space for thoughtful, capable people who are ready to explore what’s beneath the surface. Whether you’re navigating professional pressure, personal patterns that won’t quite shift, or a general sense that things could feel more aligned—I offer a space for reflection, recalibration, and change.
How We Work Together
I use Schema Therapy, a powerful and evidence-based approach that helps identify core patterns formed early in life—often invisible drivers of behavior, relationships, and self-concept. Together, we’ll uncover the survival strategies that once protected you but may now be holding you back, and build new ways of moving through the world with more freedom and ease. This work blends insight and integration—supporting you in connecting the dots and making lasting change that aligns with your values, your leadership, and your life.
You Might Be Feeling:
-Frustrated by repeating relationship dynamics or emotional patterns
-Pressured to hold it all together, but sensing burnout or disconnection
-Aware of your strengths but unsure how to move through your stuck points
-Hungry for more meaning, depth, or emotional clarity
-Successful on the outside, but unsure how to find peace within It’s common to develop coping strategies—like drinking, pornography, emotional withdrawal, irritability, cynicism, or despair—as a way to survive anxiety, confusion, and emotional pain.
These responses are not signs of failure; they are the body and mind’s best attempt at protection—until healing becomes possible.
What You Can Expect
This is a confidential, grounded, and judgment-free space. We’ll work collaboratively and with care. My role is not to fix you—but to walk with you as you uncover what’s no longer working, and access the internal resources and wisdom to create something new.
This is private work. Thoughtful work. Work that respects complexity and honors your wisdom.

You may seem OK on the outside, but on the inside, your mind rarely slows down. There is constant mental noise: second-guessing yourself and others, constant “what ifs?”, fear of failure, or thoughts that feel intrusive and hard to dismiss. Anxiety can be subtle or overwhelming, but over time it begins to dictate choices, routines, and even your sense of self. Left unchecked, it becomes exhausting, convincing, and relentless. I specialize in treating anxiety, including OCD. Using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we focus on changing your relationship with anxiety and other uncomfortable feelings. That might mean gradually addressing avoidance tendencies, reducing compulsions, building tolerance for uncertainty, or changing how you respond to intrusive thoughts. My approach is active, practical, and collaborative. We don’t just analyze feelings - we work with them directly. I also enjoy working with ADHD, especially when anxiety and executive functioning challenges overlap. When things always feel harder than they “should” be, we focus on reducing shame, building sustainable systems, and increasing consistency. Over time, you can learn to build real trust in your ability to handle what’s in front of you. My approach blends evidence-based treatment with warmth, humor, and a clear plan. Anxiety is part of being human, but with the right support, you can build the skills to live life on your terms. I offer free 20-minute phone consults for our initial introduction to each other. Appointment slots generally offered Monday-Thursday from 11:00 to 4:00.
