Hello! I'm Ted.
I believe that each of us has an innate capacity to live wisely & in harmony with others. Many of us haven't been shown how to listen to this wise inner voice when we need to— that’s where I come in. My role is to help my clients filter out the noise & tune in to their inner signal. What are your values? What are your goals? What would happen if you stopped acting how you think others expect you to? How can you live in this world in a way that brings joy & purpose? These are the questions I explore with my clients.
Work sucks, I know. And our work is tied up with all other aspects of our life - how can we make this situation work for us? I offer career counseling to people at all stages of their working life. I have specialized training in supporting people with work related challenges.
I recently complete my M.S. Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Portland State University. I have been seeing clients since the Fall of 2024 as part of the practicum & internship requirements for my degree. Prior to completing my degree, I held various roles in the behavioral health field. I’ve worked on treatment teams for both substance use and mental health, and have supported people in recovery with their employment needs. I've also worked as a union organizer, cab driver, and professional musician.
My life & work have brought me into contact with people from backgrounds very different from my own, something I'm eternally grateful for. I believe in creating a practice where people from all walks of life are met with respect, humility, & care. I am committed to the ongoing work required to make my practice an inclusive, anti-racist, and gender affirming environment.
I'm a Portland native in my late 30's. When I'm not working, I enjoy music, strong coffee, and hanging out with my fiancé and cat.
