About Susan
People come to therapy for different reasons. Sometimes it's a specific experience that continues to affect everyday life. Other times, it's anxiety that won't settle, emotions that feel difficult to manage, a child who is struggling, or patterns that don't seem to change despite your best efforts. Whatever brings you to therapy, I believe it's important to understand not only what's happening, but why, and what might help things begin to feel different.
I'm Susan Ray, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children, teens, adults, and families. My work is grounded in the understanding that our experiences, relationships, and environments influence how we think, feel, and respond to the world around us. I take an individualized approach to therapy, looking beyond symptoms to understand the experiences and circumstances contributing to current challenges.
I have extensive experience treating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, and difficulties with emotional regulation. My training includes EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and somatic approaches. Rather than applying the same treatment to everyone, I integrate approaches based on each person's developmental needs, experiences, and goals. I also provide ADHD and autism assessments and work with individuals experiencing burnout, stress, and sport or performance-related concerns.
My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. I value helping clients make connections between their experiences and current challenges while developing strategies that support meaningful change beyond our sessions. Whether I'm working with a child, an adolescent, an adult, or a family, my focus is on understanding what matters most to them and identifying an approach that fits.

Currently accepting new clients for NeuroFeedback only! Trauma isn't measured by what happened to you, it's measured by the internal impact left disrupting your wellbeing. I specialize in Trauma & Attachment therapy. My approach utilizes trauma interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), & Internal Family Systems (IFS) in combination with talk therapy and a strong relationship. Trauma can be a single event incident, childhood wounds from neglect and/or abuse, religious trauma, gender identity/LGBTQIA+ trauma and more. Those who suffer from trauma often struggle to control emotions, lack self-regulation, and face difficulties in relationships.
