Self-Defense for Boys and Moms - Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 - an 8-hour, 2-day intensive
Self-Defense for Boys & Moms is a two-day, 8-hour workshop designed to give boys and their moms practical physical, verbal, and emotional self-defense skills they can use in everyday situations.
Together, moms and sons will learn and practice ways to recognize uncomfortable or unsafe situations, communicate boundaries clearly, use their voices with confidence, and respond when someone does not respect a boundary. The workshop also introduces physical self-defense skills in an age-appropriate, supportive environment.
The goal extends beyond learning physical techniques. Participants build skills around awareness, assertiveness, boundary-setting, self-trust, and knowing when and how to seek help—giving boys opportunities to practice using their own voices while equipping moms to reinforce those skills at home.
Facilitated by Tonya Valadez, this is a hands-on workshop with opportunities for moms and sons to learn and practice together. Participants attend both days, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM each day (Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1), for a total of 8 hours.
