Grounded care for queer + pregnant or parenting people in Portland/Oregon

About this practice

Most of my clients are queer, parents, creatives, or a combination of those. Somatic and creative practices are core in my approach, which allow for more direct routes into your expression, liberation, and inherent wisdom. If you are ready to expand into your most authentic identity, integrate transformative experiences, and tend to your most tender parts, I would love to work with you. Welcome prenatal and postpartum queers!

What I Specialize In

My bread and butter is in melding somatics and creative expression, as well as supporting pregnant, postpartum, and parent clients. Between training in Hakomi (a mindful-experiential somatic approach), the Life/Art Process at Tamalpa Institute (an expressive arts and embodied movement modality), I've found that holding deep healing spaces with a balance of these has been the most supportive and organic, especially in processing perinatal experiences. Sessions can look like a mix of talking, making visual art, writing, voicing, moving the body, and developing practices for emotional regulation or embodied expression outside of session. I've worked with people in therapy and groups for over 5 years and hold a very strong value in collective healing. Particularly in communities of parents, queer people, and artists, there is such richness in the vulnerability, risk-taking, relief, and immense reward in showing up for others and being willing to be held.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

If you hold identities that are beyond 'traditional', you'll feel right at home here. I love working with those who want to embrace their full, authentic selves, in your intersections, histories, and complexities. That's why holding tending containers with and for queer people, parents, and creatives feels most in integrity with what I do an who I am-- particularly in this time rife with burnout, overwhelm, and widespread systemic oppression. I invite those who are deep feelers, sensitive sensors, and caregivers to be nourished by this work. If you feel in textures/colors/images, rich visual/conceptual metaphor feels natural to you, or tend to gesture or draw as you talk (or in place of talking), I'd love to support your integration of an identity or navigating a life transition (like becoming a parent or deepening into your authentic gender) so much more accessible.
