Online counseling for adults in Oregon
I see adults 18 and up by secure video, from my practice in Eugene to wherever you are in Oregon. You do not need to live in Lane County. You need a private place to sit, a phone or laptop with a camera, and an hour.
Who comes to me
Most of my clients are working through anxiety, depression, or trauma and PTSD. Some are in the middle of a transition they did not choose: a loss, a divorce, a diagnosis, a move that took them away from the people who knew them. Some are couples, or a parent and a grown child, who want to learn to talk again when talking has turned into arguing. And some are not in a crisis at all. They are ready to understand themselves better and grow on purpose.
I also work with stress that has outgrown its cause, mood disorders, co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns, psychosis, questions of racial identity, and spirituality. If you are not sure whether your concern belongs on that list, ask me. That is what the consultation is for.
How I work
We start with what brought you in and go at the pace you set. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy skills, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy. In practice I do not hand you a manual. I listen for what you already do well and build from there, and I match the method to the person in front of me rather than the other way around.
Trauma work gets particular care. We go slowly, we build steadiness first, and you decide what we open and when.
With couples and families I think in systems. The trouble usually lives between people rather than inside one of them, and it changes when the pattern changes.
What the video format means for you
- No commute and no waiting room. Sessions fit around work and family in a way an office visit often cannot.
- You are in your own space. Some people find it easier to say hard things from their own couch.
- Privacy is on you as well as me. Headphones help. A closed door helps more. If home is not private, a parked car works better than you would think.
- Keep my phone number handy in case the connection drops.
Video is not the right fit for everyone. If you are in immediate danger or thinking about ending your life, call or text 988 now; that line is staffed around the clock and it is the right first call. Where a higher level of care is needed, I will say so and help you find it.
Faith, if you want it
I bring my own faith to this work, and I respect yours, whatever it is or isn't. Scripture and prayer come in only if you ask for them. You set that boundary and I keep it.
Insurance and fees
I accept the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). Under the No Surprises Act you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost. Ask for one before your first session.
Start with a conversation
Every new client begins with a free 15-minute consultation. You tell me what is going on, I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it, and if I am not, I will point you somewhere better. Online booking through my client portal opens soon. Until then, reach me through calledtohealcounseling.org or call (541) 229-3758.
