Melissa Nelson
Accepting new clientsAbout Melissa
My own experiences of navigating my identity, culture, family dynamics, spirituality, and inner emotional world have helped shape my approach. As a therapist, I am relational and collaborative, grounding my work in attachment and psychodynamic theory. I incorporate evidence-based practices like mindfulness, parts work, and somatic interventions as needed. Along with helping clients explore and understand their internal experiences, I also consider cultural layers, the larger systems, and environmental contexts in which they operate. Most of my experience has been with adults navigating trauma, religious/spiritual trauma, anxiety, depression, relational and marital challenges, difficulties stemming from cultural differences, and life transitions. I welcome people from all walks of life, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+.
