Taina Woods Tavallai

I am a peer support provider with both lived experience and a strong personal commitment to understanding the human mind. I’ve spent years independently studying the brain, behavior, and mental health, which has shaped how I connect with and support others. I value dialectical thinking and believe in holding space for multiple truths at once—that people are doing the best they can while also having the capacity to grow.
My work is rooted in empathy, emotional attunement, and creating a sense of safety. I know what it feels like to believe that no one truly understands what you’re going through, and because of that, I prioritize helping people feel like someone is genuinely in their corner—someone who wants to understand them, not judge or dismiss them.
My recovery journey has not been linear, but it has been meaningful. I’ve experienced periods where my mental health felt overwhelming and destabilizing, and those experiences have led me to take my well-being seriously. Over time, I’ve developed stronger self-awareness, learned to recognize patterns, and built tools to navigate difficult emotions more intentionally.
Today, my life is more stable and grounded than it once was, even as I continue to grow. A significant part of my healing has been learning to accept myself, and I am now working toward deeper self-forgiveness. I view recovery as an ongoing process, and I bring that understanding into how I support others—with patience, honesty, and respect for each person’s unique path.
