Sex therapy can help people address problems around sexual functioning, desire, pleasure, performance, and meaning. Some mental health and physical health issues can impact a person’s sex life. Some life events can also impact a person’s sex life, such as chronic stress, trauma, isolation and exclusion, and difficult life stages. Sex therapy can help people understand their challenges, grieve and honor what has happened, re-engage their interest in sex and pleasure, and build back this part of their life.
